Introduction

We know that everyone’s excited, and so are we!! Christmas is celebrated all over the world as the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ. It is the festival of joy and happiness and there is no better way to celebrate it than travel to some of the best places in the world. This time we will let you know about the places you can visit in Christmas and New Year, and let off all your boredom you’ve had in this lock down.

1) Vietnam

Christmas Eve is the main event in Vietnam, as few of the locals celebrate Christmas Day. However, you'll still find people celebrating by throwing confetti and marveling at Christmas displays at international hotels and stores. However, New Year's Eve is a massive celebration: Vietnam celebrates the new year for three days!

2) Iceland

Iceland is the perfect destination for travelers who love the holiday season! Christmas in Iceland lasts for 26 days and provides travelers with the quintessential holiday experience. Not only are travelers almost guaranteed a white Christmas, they can also participate in winter activities such as glacier hiking, snowmobiling, and visiting ice caves. The northern lights are also commonly spotted in Iceland in December, and the entire city of Reykjavik lights up with fireworks on New Year's Eve.

3) Japan

Christmas has only been widely celebrated in Japan for the last few decades, seen as a fun way to spend time with family and friends. If you're thinking of going on a Christmas or New Year tour with your significant other, Japan may be a great option - Christmas Eve is seen as a romantic holiday, similar to Valentine's Day, during which couples exchange gifts. The New Year is celebrated over five days, from December 31st until January 4th. During this time, families spend time together, enjoy special meals, and send cards to one another.

4) Italy

Christmas is big in Italy, as a majority-Catholic country! In Naples, houses take great care to assemble nativity scenes and set up cribs for a model of baby Jesus to spend the night in on Christmas Eve. Midnight Mass services are ornate, and families return home to enjoy a slice of panettone, a fruity sponge cake.

5) Austria

Nestled amidst the backdrop of Alpes, Austria is another good choice for Christmas & New Year vacation destinations. An all the year-round destination, each season in Austria offers pristine beauty but it’s the winter which makes Austria more alluring. With snow-capped Alps standing tall, the landscape of Austria in winter resembles that of a winter wonderland. An ideal destination for snow adventure like Skiing and snowboarding, Austria also exhibits a carnival-like exhibition during the Christmas and New year season. Vienna is Austria is the epicentre of all Christmas celebrations and Salzburg is one of the most visited Christmas destinations in Europe. Salzburg is of great cultural and historical significance for Austrians and the emotion is greatly reflected in the grand Christmas celebration at Salzburg.
